Ipswich Town Complete Chuba Akpom Permanent Signing After EPL Promotion

Following the club’s promotion to English topflight league, Premier League, Ipswich Town have confirmed that Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom will join the Blues on a permanent deal.

The 30-year-old joined on loan from Ajax in 2025 with an option to make the move permanent, which has now been triggered during the 2025/26 season.

He made 31 appearances throughout the campaign, with goals against Hull City and Oxford United proving vital in helping Town secure promotion to the Premier League. His deal runs until 2029 and will come into effect from July 1.

Chuba Akpom last featured in the Premier League during the 2014/15 season with Arsenal FC. He made his final EPL appearance for the Gunners in May 2015 before embarking on several loan spells and later continuing his career abroad. In total, Akpom made four Premier League appearances for Arsenal.
