Nigerian winger Taofeek Ismaheel continued his impressive form for Lech Poznań, playing a pivotal role in the club’s comfortable 2–0 win over Lausanne-Sport.
The result strengthens Lech Poznań’s position in the UEFA Europa Conference League, giving them six points after four matchdays. Thursday’s match at the Enea Stadium saw the Polish side take control, with Ismaheel once again proving to be a decisive influence.
Coming off the bench, Ismaheel delivered a standout performance, registering both a goal and an assist. His impact set the tone for Lech Poznań’s dominance, while Yannick Agnero added the second goal to secure the victory.
“The victory is a credit to the entire team. We needed this win; we’re now in a position that guarantees us advancement to the next round, but we’re fighting for direct qualification to the round of 16,” Taofeek Ismaheel stated in his post match pressers.
“The opponents played differently than we’re usually used to. We usually face teams that stay in their own half and look for long passes. It was a tough match, but fortunately we scored two goals and can celebrate the victory.”
The win keeps Lech Poznań firmly in contention for progression, and another high-stakes European night awaits on December 11, when they travel to Germany to face Mainz in a crucial clash for a spot in the next round.
