Ismaheel Taofeek’s Goal Lifts Lech Poznan To The Summit

Ismaheel Taofeek scored in Lech Poznan’s 4-1 demolition of Termalica Nieciecza to send his team to the top of the table.

The 25 year old winger had gone without a goal in the previous twenty five rounds of the Ekrtraklasa before finally finding the net in beautiful fashion over the course of the weekend.

Having provided an assist in Lech Poznan’s Europa Conference League 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, he went on to open his league account three days later.

Despite being the leading marksman for his team in Europe with six goals contribution, Ismaheel had to wait until the most recent round to open his scoring account in the league.

His vicious effort from over twenty five yards swayed past the goalkeeper to secure the Kolejors’ result on the afternoon.

He is now just one goal or assist away from reaching double figures for goals contribution in the 2025/2026 season.

The result also means that Lech Poznan are now outrightly top of the Ekstraklasa after twenty six rounds of football.

The Super Eagles hopeful has been a constant in coach Niels Frederiksen’s team since making his loan move from Gornik Zabrze at the start of the season.
