CAF Executive Committee Begin Inspection of AFCON 2027 Venues

AFCON 2027 – Ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, CAF’s team of technical experts has commenced inspections of the designated host venues across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

As revealed, the CAF Executive Committee, led by President Dr Patrice Motsepe, is scheduled to visit Tanzania on Friday, 13 February 2025, as part of the assessment tour.

The evaluations will cover pitch standards, safety and security measures, as well as infrastructure readiness at key match venues and training facilities earmarked for the tournament.

The African football governing will continue working closely with the three host nations, their respective governments and Local Organising Committees (LOCs) to strengthen delivery plans and ensure preparations gather momentum for the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania 2027.

The inspection tour is expected to run until Tuesday, 17 February, with CAF applying its stringent, world-class organisational standards to what remains Africa’s biggest football spectacle.

This exercise forms part of CAF’s broader strategy to elevate standards both on and off the pitch. By enforcing consistent benchmarks in infrastructure, operations and venue management, the governing body aims to further enhance the reputation of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON as one of the premier football tournaments globally.
