Championship outfit, Cardiff City FC have snapped up Nigeria international defender Gabriel Osho from Ligue 1 club, AJ Auxerre for undisclosed deal on a four year contract.
Subject to international clearance, the 27-year-old arrives in the Welsh capital on a permanent deal as the club continues it’s push for topflight promotion.
“I’m really happy, and really excited. It’s been a long time in the works, so to finally be here at the stadium and in the city has been good. I’m buzzing to get going,” Gabriel Osho told Cardiff City TV.
“Brian played a big part. It’s always important when the player has a good relationship with the manager. I had a really good time at Rochdale, and the connection I built with Brian and the staff there was pretty amazing. I think the relationship really was a contributing factor.
“I’ve been watching the games so far, and the atmosphere is amazing. Hopefully I can feed off the team’s momentum, get going straight away, and just keep the wins and the clean sheets going.”
Gabriel began his professional career at Reading before joining Luton Town in 2020, where he quickly established himself as a key figure in the team.
He played an important role in Luton’s historic promotion to the Premier League in the 2022/23 season and continued to impress at the top level, making 21 appearances in the following campaign and scoring twice.
His maiden Premier League goal came in a memorable home clash against Arsenal, highlighting his impact on the Hatters’ debut season in the top flight.
