Christantus Uche’s European Wonder Goal Clinches Palace Goal of the Month

Christantus Uche’s sublime strike in the nervy 2-2 draw against KuPS Kuopio in the UEFA Conference League has been voted as Crystal Palace goal of the month for December.

His first honor since joining the club on loan back in the summer, the Nigerian forward who was handed a rare start on the night recorded 75.6% votes to edge out other contenders.

The Nigerian’s outside-of-the-boot finish against the Finnish champions marked his first goal at Selhurst Park — and it was one to remember.

Picking up the ball from Justin Devenny on the edge of the box, Uche cut inside his marker, lifted his head and, with sublime technique, unleashed a stunning trivela into the top corner.

Meanwhile, the 22-year old long term continuity in England is in doubt considering his limited game time as well as the clause in his loan deal from Getafe.

His loan deal reportedly includes a clause that requires him to make ten starts to trigger a permanent move, a target that looks increasingly difficult to achieve under the current circumstances.
