Uche Ikpeazu has hit the ground running just days after joining the club from Scottish Premiership rivals St Johnstone for an undisclosed fee. The Nigerian-Ugandan striker struck the decisive goal as Ross County edged past Queen’s Park 1–0 in a nervy encounter, continuing their push for survival.
The 30-year-old who now represents Uganda on the international scene struck a 79th minute winner to lift the Staggies back off the bottom of the Championship.

“It was very important to get three points. We don’t want to get carried away,” he said after the game.
“It’s a good start for me. The team has been doing well prior to me coming in because this is now the gaffer’s third win from four league games.
“The momentum is there. I am just here to add to what we’ve got. The more games I get, the more fit and sharp I will become. That’s important.
“I said to the boys that I’m here to help the team move forward. We need to take it game by game. We don’t need to look too far ahead.
“This club should not be in the position it’s in. There’s a lot of work to do, even for myself, including getting my fitness up, but it’s a great start.”
County’s win over Queen’s Park lifts them one point clear of the Glasgow side, albeit having played a game more.
They also sit just a point behind Airdrieonians, with a match in hand.
