
Sporting Lagos Football Club have appointed Jeffery Buter as the new head coach following Shola Adegun’s departure to Plateau United at the beginning of the season.
Jeffery Buter who joined the club back in 2023 is set to take the helm of affairs having worked closely with the former gaffer as he was part of the technical staff that oversaw the club’s historic run in the Gothia Puma Trophy triumph.
We have a new head coach!
Coach Jeff joined in 2023 as Academy assistant coach and played a key role in our 2024 Gothia Puma Trophy win. He stepped up to the first team last season as assistant coach and now takes the helm as Head Coach.

He was then promoted to the first team as assistant coach for the 2024/25 NNL campaign as they narrowly missed out on play-off spot.

Godwin Enakhena, club Chairman stated that the club is looking forward to a new administration under Jeffery with hope to continue to build on past successes.
Jeffery has shown remarkable dedication and professionalism since joining our Academy two years ago. His work ethic, vision, and ability to challenge the norm make him the perfect fit to guide our senior team. We look forward to the next chapter of Sporting Lagos under his leadership.
Jeffrey who currently holds a Scottish FA C License and is working toward his UEFA C License began his coaching career in 2020 as an assistant coach with Makinz FA in Abuja.
His dedication and leadership quickly earned him a promotion to head coach at the academy. Over the years, he expanded his experience by taking up head coaching roles with the AS Roma Academy and Derby Football Academy, both based in Abuja.
In 2023, he brought his expertise and passion to the club, joining from Derby FA.
