Victor Osimhen made his return in the derby stalemate against Fenerbahce on Monday evening.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen made his return from injury in the Intercontinental Derby on Tuesday.
The 26 year old forward made his sensational comeback to the team’s line up in their 1-1 draw against local rivals Fenerbahce.
The former African footballer of the year however couldn’t leave a mark on the game as he was substituted in the 89th minute for Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.
Osimhen had missed two games for Galatasaray due to a muscle injury sustained on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Despite the draw, Galatasaray remain top of the Super Lig table with 33 points, one more than their rivals who remain unbeaten.
Recalled, Osimhen scored a brace against Fenerbahce in last season’s cup final to help his team to the domestic double.
This term, he has scored three goals in nine league outings while netting another six in seven UCL games.
