OFFICIAL: BK Häcken Sign Halimatu Ayinde

Super Falcons veteran midfielder Halimatu Ayinde has completed a permanent move to Swedish side BK Häcken for an undisclosed fee, signing a deal believed to run until the end of the season with the option of another.

She joins from FC Rosengård, whom she joined in the summer of 2022 after spells at Asarum and Eskilstuna, helping the club win multiple titles.

BK Häcken football director, Martin Ericsson admitted that the midfielder’s experience will give the team a competitive edge, adding that her proven qualities make her a major force in midfield.

“It is a player with great experience who is joining us now. Hali is qualified and knows what it takes to play at the highest level and achieve success.

“She is a fast player who is confident with the ball, signed as a six but who can also play in the defensive line. We wish her a warm welcome to Bollklubben.

Ayinde upon signing her contract stated;

“It feels like this is the right place for me to continue developing but also compete and win more titles with the team.

“I am a happy person who works hard. When I am on the field, I always want to give my best and contribute with leadership. I am also not a player who is easy to predict, but I have a lot in my game.”

The 30-year-old boasts a wealth of international experience, having made her World Cup debut in 2015 before representing Nigeria at two further World Cup tournaments and winning the WAFCON title on three occasions.
